ABOUT US

Based in the heart of East Anglia in the market town of Watton (Norfolk), Genpart Precision Waterjet Cutting offers a high quality nationwide 2D (3 axis) abrasive waterjet cutting service.

We can cut parts from free-issue materials or (depending on the material) we can supply as part of our service. Our charges are simply based on the time taken to set-up and cut the parts. We can work from most popular CAD files (DWG or DXF preferred) or for an additional charge we can produce CAD files from hand sketches.

The cut parts can be collected from our premises or we can arrange delivery by parcel or pallet, depending on size and weight.

WHAT CAN WE CUT ?

We can cut almost any material up to 200mm thick, from foam to titanium and just about everything else in between including plastic, glass, stainless steel, copper, stone and wood. Please see our materials page for more information.

HOW DOES A WATERJET WORK ?

Using an ultra high pressure intensifier pump, the mains water pressure is increased to 58,000 psi (4,000 bar) and forced through the cutting nozzle to produce a water stream with a diameter of just 0.76mm.

Softer materials such as foam and rubber can be cut with pure water. When cutting harder materials the water stream is mixed with an abrasive sand (garnet) to increase the cutting power.

THE ADVANTAGES OF WATERJET CUTTING

Unlike other cutting methods such as a laser or plasma, waterjet is a cold cutting process and therefore does not produce a heat affected zone which alters the microstructure and properties of the material.

Depending on the material and application, cut parts often require no further processing and are left burr free.

We can offer additional services including deburring, drilling, tapping, bending, powder coating and painting.
